I joined the Harriers in 2018 having moved back to Bollington after 19 years in the far North (Poynton).
I’ve been a runner “on and off” since 2008 when I signed up for the Manchester 10k. That led onto another 13 Manchester 10k’s, three Great North Run’s, two London Marathons and countless trips out and around the suburbs of Wilmslow during a wet March.
On 1st December 2018 I made the fatal mistake of starting a 31-day “run streak” (google it), running a minimum of 5k every day. It was 1,015 days (and over 6,000k) before I managed to break the habit, having been forced to through injury. After a stint back on a bike, I managed to start running with the Harriers again and love it.
I’m still training for that first Ultra (2024?) but fear that the body may just be a little too fragile these days. We’ll see…
