Sparkie running in the Scottish mountains 2018

Often seen running through the Village, I began in my 40’s and haven’t stopped. I enjoy most distances but as the years pass I am going further and further. Although I have completed many Half’s and a few Marathons my body tells me it prefers off-road! I love the challenge of a good hill, and preferably a mountain (ideally in Scotland). Being outdoors in nature is what I love most, never stop exploring. I see running as a deeply personal but sociable activity. You can be running with thousands of others but only you know how it feels for you. Never be deceived by times and placings; only you know how hard it was for you. For me the Harriers is a state of mind, a diverse group of individuals with the same shared passion for getting out and moving. Fast or slow, on roads on trails, running is the best.
